ORCHIDWOODS COMPANY

Founded in 1969 by the late Datuk Au Yong Nang Yip (Sarawak's Orchid King), Orchidwoods Company remains one of the most famous names to cultivate wild orchids in Borneo and orchid hybridisation. Orchidwoods are the recipients of countless awards for orchid growing and breeding and have earned a name as Sarawak's most reputable establishment in the industry.

Orchidwoods Company is one of the most reputable orchid nurseries in Southeast Asia for quality plants and local species. Mostly known for its Phalaenopsis bellinas and legendary collection of rare and award-winning Vanda dearei, thus firmly putting its hometown of Kuching, Sarawak on the world orchid map.

In Kuching itself, Orchidwoods is behind the famous Orchid Garden which has become a showpiece and the pride of the people of Sarawak.

Among its overseas undertakings, Orchidwoods also has an important orchid nursery project in Yunnan, China, and a commercial orchid farm in Hainan, China.

The late Au Yong has contributed to the appreciation of Borneo Orchids and played an important role in promoting awareness and love for the orchids of Sarawak.
